Step into a world of festive delights and choose the perfect present for that special someone at our ever popular Christmas selling exhibition.
This year Christmas Delights will run from 25 November to Sunday 7 January, 2018 when we will be exhibiting hand-made items created by local designer-crafters, including a number of bespoke items made exclusively for the exhibition.
There is something for everyone and to suit all pockets; from Rebecca Blakeway’s jewellery using a variation of silver, gold and enamel and focusing on surface textures and patterning, to the beautiful hand-painted, photomontage jewellery from Rose Hallam. Local jeweler, Stefan Day, a perennial favourite in the museum shop, will be unveiling his new, limited edition of silver jewellery inspired by the Art Deco movement.
Penny Varley’s highly glazed pieces and domestic ware, predominantly made in white earthen clay is both practical and a pleasure to use and don’t miss Jacky Mahony’s new range of high-fired stoneware and porcelain intended for use in the home or garden.
From their Cotswolds studio Colin and Louise Hawkins use a combination of traditional glassblowing techniques and contemporary craft skills to make their stunning glass ware and Arthur Alvis will be exhibiting his hand-made, crafted metal sculptures.
Sarah Davis, following natural themes in abstract and figurative styles has produced a selection of stunning works in glass for the exhibition, while Danielle Shrimpton’s quirky embroidery designs will make the perfect, unique gift.
Another local designer-maker, Jeremy Green will be showcasing his beautiful range of bespoke furniture made mainly of English woods that he seasons himself. And if you have been collecting Lorna Prudden’s work there will be a new range of Christmas glass ornaments to add to your collection.
So come along and soak up the magic of the festive season and treat yourself to something special from our sparkling array of Christmas delights!
