Hart Vase

Twelve limited edition silver vases have been created for Court Barn by Derek Elliott from the Hart silversmiths in Chipping Campden.

Silver is still handcrafted by the Hart silversmiths in the very same workshop used by C R Ashbee’s silversmiths from 1902 to 1908, in the best Arts and Crafts tradition, taking inspiration from their vast archive of drawings that span over a century of design.

Specialising in the best traditions of handmade silver, each vase has been meticulously fashioned using processes known as ‘raising’ (whereby cut silver sheet is tapped into shape with a large hammer), ‘planishing’ (hammering more finely with a smaller hammer over a metal stake) and ‘finishing’, by filing, sanding, smoothing and polishing the silverware.

Your vase has been hallmarked by the London Assay Office with a limited edition number engraved on the base and will come to you with a Certificate of Authentication.

With this truly unique work of art, you will own something very special, handcrafted with the traditions and techniques that have been used for centuries.
