How you can support us

Like many places during this time we have lost a lot of revenue. As an independent Museum we rely on admission charges and income from our shop, as well as our Friends group.

If you would like to support and help secure the future of the museum please support us by making a donation, becoming a Friend or volunteering at the Museum.

Volunteering

Would you like to join our small, friendly team of volunteers?

Court Barn relies on the generosity of its volunteers who give thousands of hours each year in a wide range of activities. You could be working on the reception desk, greeting visitors and making them feel welcome; cataloguing the Museum’s collections; running children’s workshops and school visits, plus other opportunities as they arise.

If you would like to make new friends, meet a variety of people, learn new skills and experience the running of a small museum, why not join us?

Leave a legacy

Remembering Court Barn, which is a project of the Guild of Handicraft Trust, by leaving us a legacy in your will, however modest, would be such a help to us.   It could contribute by, amongst many other priorities, enabling us to add to our collection, to mount special exhibitions and the cost of conservation.  If it is directed to our Acquisition Fund, we could make a purchase of an object and dedicate it in your name or that of a special friend or relative and add the attribution when displayed either permanently or in an exhibition.

This beautiful bracelet is an example of a donation from a collector.

The Guild of Handicraft Trust is a Registered Charity.  The number is 1007696.  Your solicitor will advise you regarding how to include a donation in your will, or if you do not wish to amend your will, add a codicil, and will also advise on the tax advantages.

Corporate Partnership

We rely on the support of the business community to help fund the exhibition and education programmes which are at the heart of Court Barn’s mission. Corporate Partnership is a great way for your company to support our organisation and provides a wide package of benefits in return for your financial help.

Our Corporate Partners become involved in many different ways, including sponsoring exhibitions and help in kind. We provide a real opportunity to engage with the local community and draw attention to their support through our extensive marketing activity.
